How to Use the Business Model Canvas

What is the Business Model Canvas?

The Business Model Canvas is a visual planning tool that lets you map out the nine building blocks of your business on a single page. It is free for all authenticated users.
Getting Started:

  1. Navigate to Roadmap > Business Model Canvas or click Business Model Canvas in the sidebar

  2. If you have no canvases yet, click Create New Canvas

  3. Give your canvas a name (e.g., "V1 — Core Model")

  4. Filling in Your Canvas: The canvas contains nine blocks: Key Partners, Key Activities, Key Resources, Value Propositions, Customer Relationships, Channels, Customer Segments, Cost Structure, and Revenue Streams. Click on any block to edit it. Your changes save automatically.

  5. Managing Multiple Canvases: You can create multiple canvases to compare different business model iterations. Use the canvas selector at the top to switch between them.
