# Review startup applications as a mentor

> How to review applications assigned to you on the Freshmango mentor portal, including scoring criteria and leaving feedback comments.

As a mentor, you may be asked to review applications submitted by startup founders. You do this from the `/mentor/applications` page in the mentor portal.

## Open an application

    From your mentor dashboard or sidebar, click **Applications**.

    Open any application with a pending review status. You only see applications the Freshmango team has assigned to you.

## Review and score

Read through the application, then enter your scores and comments:

* Score each relevant criterion on the rubric provided.
* Leave written feedback in the comment fields. Be specific about strengths and gaps so founders and admins can act on your input.
* Save your review. Depending on program settings, you may be able to edit it until the review window closes.

  Your review is part of the overall evaluation process. The final program decision is made by the Freshmango admissions team, not individual mentors.

## Track your reviews

The applications page shows which reviews are pending and which you have already submitted. If you believe an assignment is missing, contact the Freshmango team directly.
